Not only have the Sox been kicking into high gear on the field, but they have upped their service activity as well. The Red Sox have dedicated the month of July to “Celebrating Service” as several members of the Sox plan to participate in a slew of activities this month to give back to their community.

All in all there are ten events scheduled for the month of July, but we’ll provide a few highlights to give you an idea of the good work the Sox hope to do to give back to the city of Boston.

July 4 Pine Street Inn

While many fans will be kicking back at the BBQ, Red Sox staff members will be preparing and serving breakfast to homeless men and women who stop by for a free meal.

July 23 Papi’s Pals

David Ortiz will host children from Massachusetts General Hospital as the Sox face the Toronto Blue Jays. The kids will have a chance to chat with Big Papi and watch batting practice before the game.

July 29 NVRQT Night at the House of Blues

Jon Lester will host the second annual NVRQT night at the House of Blues in Boston as he and the foundation volunteers try to raise funds and awareness for Pediatric cancer. Lester started the foundation as a way to give back to his community as a cancer survivor and professional athlete.

Those are just a few of the many events going on this month. For a complete list check here. It really is great to live in a city so passionate about baseball, and one where the athletes show the fans that same passion and dedication.
