Humans of Red Sox Nation

“I’ve been a fan of the Red Sox since I was very little. I’m originally from New Hampshire and I always enjoyed coming down to the games at Fenway. Everything about this place amazed me; I loved the atmosphere. I never thought I’d actually get the chance to work here, but I knew I loved being around this place and would do anything to be close to it.

The opportunity actually came up when Fenway security came to recruit at my school.
They were giving out job applications; and I decided to take an application on a whim. I didn’t think I’d actually get it. But, when I ended up with the job offer I was so excited. I couldn’t believe I’d get to come here and be a part of Fenway for my job.

I absolutely love my job because I get to talk to a bunch of different people. We definitely get a lot of different types of people here, which means there’s never a dull moment. There’s a lot of the usual families and college kids from nearby, but we also get some interesting groups, like bachelor parties and family events. It’s definitely a diverse environment, but I love this because even though everyone is so different, we all come together because we love this place and this team. My favorite part is getting to know everyone that comes in. I learn a lot from these people.

This job also keeps me around the ballpark; it’s a part of history and being here all the time makes me feel like I’m a part of history too. If I could continue working here forever, that would be the best. I hope to stay here for quite some time; I definitely don’t plan on leaving any time soon. I can’t see myself leaving Fenway.”
