Boston Globe neglects delivering papers, city in panic

I wish this was The Onion

The Boston Globe, the venerable, “elite” newspaper hasn’t even been delivering papers to select areas for the past four days. Seriously I’ve heard about it on Twitter, seen it on reddit, you know where I haven’t seen it though? The Globe newspaper (laughtrack).

This is what the Globe has to say for themselves:

To our loyal subscribers, thank you for your patience. This week, we are transitioning home delivery partners which is causing disruption to our delivery service. This disruption is not unexpected, as the transition involves the hiring and deployment of approximately 600 drivers. But it is necessary and will assure a higher level of delivery and customer service over the long term.

If you are having problems with delivery, please visit our customer service website, Scroll down on the page to report a delivery issue and get detailed login instructions for accessing your account. Of course, we will offer full refunds to those subscribers who do not receive newspapers.

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Hey uhhh Globe people, maybe think things through before you f*ck the entire system, and your customer base, up. Just a thought. With print media pretty much dead I think this is the nail in the coffin. It’s not that newspapers are bad, it’s that it’s a waste of time and money and that the people in charge are in charge because they’ve been there for 50 years (seriously, newspaper offices and the fossil room at the Science Museum are pretty much one in the same).

Why shoot for excellence when you can just shoot for mediocrity right?
