Ah yes, the year is 2015 and social media, mainly Twitter, rules the world. While 99.99% of what is posted by #TweetGeeks may seem like useless knowledge, there is actually some interesting stuff that can come out of it.
Yesterday for example, David Ortiz posted a photo of his jacked biceps, letting everyone know that he is already in mid-season form and “getting ready for some damage”.

The photo of Papi proudly flexing his muscles has been promptly retweeted 850 times and favorited 2.2k times in just a span of a day. While much of the support came from the usuals, that being us guys, the fans, there were some people of note that commented on the beastly shape Ortiz is currently in.
One man in particular, is Ortiz’s teammate pitcher Joe Kelly who commented on the post by saying “your arm looks like my thigh”. Quite the compliment although it is coming from a guy who stands just over six feet tall and is not exactly known for having a huge, rocket arm.
Kelly, who is apparently a social media “funny guy” has been known to say some strange or hilarious things. Kelly was actually voted the social media player of the year last season (I know, I didn’t think it was a real thing either). Hey, if dude can’t perform on the field this season, at least we can take solace in knowing he will be on point with his tweets about his performance, or lack there of. And you guys were worried about this pitching staff, ha!
Whatever the case may be, it is good to see Papi staying in shape (all with legal substances I’m sure) as he enters the later stages of his career. Another sub .275 batting average with 25+ homers type of season should be on the books for Papi yet again as he is still arguably the biggest power threat the Sox have.
