One of the most disappointing seasons in recent Red Sox history? You bet. Fresh off the heels of winning their third World Series trophy in a decade the Sox bolstered their lineup with the acquisitions of AJ Pierzynski and Grady Sizemore. Unfortunately the season took a sharp turn for the worse as the Sox trudged through the first half hoping to gain ground in the AL East before trading off their best starters in Lester, Lackey, and Peavy at the trade deadline only to free fall into last place by the season’s end.
